Job Title: Assistant Brewer
Reports To: Head Brewer
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary: Responsible for independently running the brew house and assisting in the management of production assistants with the objective of producing a consistent, quality packaged beer while maintaining sanitary and safe working conditions by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Maintains sanitary working conditions.*
2. Cleans and sanitizes brewing vessels using the Clean in Place system.*
3. Mills grain.*
4. Mashes in.*
8. Transfers wort to fermenter.*
9. Pitches yeast*.
10. Dry hops when necessary.*
11. Responsible for packaging beer into various packages.*
12. Handles chemicals safely.*
13. Follows instructions accurately.*
14. Develops recipes and pilot batching.*
15. Orders production inputs as necessary.*
16. Helps to bottle beer.
17. Cleans fermentation and brite beer tanks.
18. Picks packaged products for delivery and wholesaler pickup.
Directly supervises two employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
