Our Hoppy Holidays IPA beer release is here! This Friday (12.8) 12-can mixed packs are available for sale on the website starting at 8am (access link from Can Releases page). Individual 4pks of each will be available at both taprooms this Saturday (12.9) at noon when we open. We wanted to give you a little more background info about each beer so you know what’s in store (and so they all feel special, of course). Check out the beer descriptions:
SHOCK THE MONKEY DOUBLE IPA
Monkey see, monkey brew: we took Mr. Chimpo, our U.S. Open Beer Championship winner, and brewed Shock the Monkey, our Double IPA version with Mosaic, Simcoe, Centennial, and Citra hops. With a nose of ripe peach balanced by ruby grapefruit and passionfruit, this DIPA pours a clear, sunny yellow. Flavors of stonefruit, grapefruit, and passionfruit, with a slightly earthy, herbaceous character from the Simcoe hops, combine to create a very inviting DIPA. There’s no time for monkey business; Shock the Monkey is only here for a limited time.
SUKAHOP NORTHEAST-INSPIRED IPA
Sukahop is a Northeast-Inspired IPA so ridiculously aromatic and juicy, you’ll swear you’re sucking on a hop. It pours a hazy, straw yellow with saffron undertones. A vibrant nose of sweet pineapple and grapefruit finishes with hints of apricot and pine. The flavor profile is a nice balance of citrus hoppiness; notes of sweet orange flesh are balanced by orange rind with a light maltiness and tropical fruit in the background. This juicy, smooth bitterness is what makes Sukahop one of our most popular NE-style IPAs to date.
DISCORD KETTLE SOUR IPA
Bright, sour, with refreshingly bitter citrus notes of grapefruit and lime, our Discord Kettle Sour IPA is a study in contrasts. We took a clean West Coast IPA base and injected lactobacillus into the wort to sour it before boiling and resuming hopping as usual. The resulting beer’s combination of lactic acid tartness and IBUs transform a resinous bitterness into a grapefruit pithiness. You’ll just have to trust us, and try it for yourself.
