COMPETITOR FAQs
Who is allowed to compete?
Anyone! We encourage families, groups of friends, enthusiasts, and everyone in between to compete. All forms of pasta are welcome too!

Is there an entry fee?
Nope! This competition is free to compete and free to taste. We encourage folks to come on out, eat some delicious pasta and have a beer or two to pair with it!

Do I have to participate in every category (i.e. Do I have to make both a hot and cold pasta)?
You may participate in as many or as few categories as you'd like. Of course the more categories you enter, the better chance you have of winning!

Do I prepare my pasta ahead of time or am I expected to cook on-site?
All pasta must be prepared off-site and brought in your own heating/cooling device so it remains at a food-safe temperature the entirety of the competition. Please bring a propane warmer, crockpot and generator, cooler with ice, bowl with ice, etc. to keep your pasta warm or chilled when not serving.

How much pasta should I make?
This is really up to you, however we will see anywhere between 100-200 tasters over the 2-hour span of the competition. The average serving size should be no more than 1-2oz.

What do I need to bring?
Pasta Cook-Off competitors are responsible for bringing their own 10x10 pop-up/canopy, 6ft folding table (1 per team only), system to keep their salsa chilled/warmed, serving utensils, table decorations, and any other tools/accessories needed to serve 2oz tasters. Track 7 will provide 2oz taster bowls, napkins and forks/spoons!

What time should I arrive to set up?
Setup time for Moms Spaghetti: A Pasta Cook-Off will be between 11:30am-12:30pm. The competition/serving kicks off promptly at 1pm.

What am I allowed to use as decorations?
Each team will have (1) 6ft table worth of space to decorate. The most common forms of decoration we've seen in the past include table cloths, figurines, team name signs, and clothing that matches the vibe of their table. There will be no wall space to attach decor, just your 6ft table.

Am I allowed to taste and vote in the competition if I'm competing? Competitors may taste what each other are cookin' and vote in each of the competition categories. Please, no self voting. This is meant for you to explore what else is out there! Our team will be keeping an eye on this and throwing out clearly duplicated votes.

Are there rules?
For sure! First and foremost, please remember this is a neighborhood pasta competition, not a state championship. We're here to have fun, enjoy a few beers and taste the wide variety of pastas our community has to offer. Be Kind. Beer For All.

  1. ALL pasta must be prepared off-site prior to Mom’s Spaghetti: A Pasta Cook-Off.

  2. Guests and competitors may taste pasta and vote for their favorites in each category (1) time. Any clearly duplicated votes will be thrown out.

  3. Competitors may use "accessories" to enhance their pasta (i.e. breads, crackers, toppings, etc.)

  4. Decorations must remain on or within 1 foot in any direction of the competitors 6ft serving table.

  5. A single competitor may win up to all (3) competition categories (i.e. a clean sweep) if voted accordingly.

  6. In the event of a tie, we will turn to a TRIVIA question to decide a winner. The question will be pasta-themed.
